I made it into the Police Beat

So the way that I found out how my bike was originally stolen was in the POLICE BEAT! Any ex-BYUers will know that the Police Beat is a bi-weekly column in the daily universe that talks about all the campus crimes. Anyway... it has always been an aspiration of mine, in a good way, to make it into the Police Beat. It is was like a dream come true. Here is the link and you can check it out yourself. http://newsnet.byu.edu/story.cfm/70291 It is the longest story under theft.
Go Police Beat!

The prodigal returns!

So last night I was walking to class, minding my own business. You all may remember that my bike got stolen over the summer because I was "coming right back" and didn't lock it. Well... someone else come right back and the next morning it was gone. Then I spent months walking to school, up hill both ways, in the rain, barefoot (just practicing mom). I finally bought a new bike in September, thinking that my bike had probably been dismantled and sold for parts on craigslist or something. Well... yesterday, as I was minding my own business, I see my stolen bike in the bike racks in between the SFH and the RB.
At this point I do a quadruple take and remember that the front reflector on my bike had been broken off... sure enough it was. As I prowl around it a few more times, I call the Provo police who transfer me to BYU PD who transfer me back to Provo who transfer me back to BYU. I felt like the mom on home alone who gets transfered back and forth like 50 times and all she wants is her son back! All I wanted was my bike back. She was like a son to me. It was a pain but finally BYU PD show up, verify that it was mine indeed. Then we sit around waiting for Provo police for an hour and a half! I was mad and even missed the first half of my soccer game! And then I ended up sendingmy good friends Joleen and Brittany to go get the bike from Provo PD when they FINALLY cut the lock so that I could play in my soccer game, which we won. All in all I had a great night and now I have 2 bikes!

This is my old bike which is now like new to me!
This was bike 2. Its really nice actually and so I can't bring myself to sell it. At least not now.

Now to the next 5 days of 2 tests, 2 papers, 1 presentation, 1 sacrament meeting talk and 1 sunday school lesson! Not to mention all the social activities in between. Needless to say I am a tiny bit stressed!

This and that...

This is just a little bit of what I have been up to lately.

We went to help plant flowers at temple square. My roomie (middle) motivated me to go mostly by force but that is besides the point. In the end we had a blast. We went to eat at Hires Big H afterward(thanks Salt Lake girls for the classic spot) and it was full of U fans, right before a game. We were naturally wearing BYU blue and got the stare down the whole time but it was still so worth it.
They told us we has to pull these flowers up so I said why not take a fun picture of it while we are at it. After the picture the boys proceded to find a mouse in the flower bed... I was probably lying on him!

This is Ashley and I at a football game. Mind you it was freezing that day!

These are the amazing fall colors. I wish you could see them better but lets just say we love fall in Utah because (1) the colors and (2) it means that snowboarding season is just around the corner.

Memory Game

This sounded like a great idea, so I've decided to join in the fun.

1. Add a comment on this post of a memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you know me briefly or we go way back, just remind me of something that sticks out for you.

2. Next, repost these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's pretty fun to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave a memory about you!

You're it!

I am: wearing green. Surprise, surprise
I think: my hair looks pretty good today
I have: an intramural soccer game tonight
I dislike: tucked in sheets, tomatoes, and Utah drivers.
I miss: Paraguay, chip guazu and Shayla!
I fear: failure
I feel: strongly that Prop 8 needs to pass!
I hear: the man on the walky-talky and my squeaky work chair and the heater.
I smell: someones yummy soup for lunch, earlier it was my homemade banana muffins.
I crave: PATTY'S! I am with Kirsti on that one... and Cafe Rio!
I cry: when I find out about my car problems.
I usually: spend too much time on Facebook and not enough on homework.
I search: the internet for my 3 research papers this semester
I wonder: how everyone is doing in Paraguay
I regret: not locking my bike... and now its gone.
I wish: I had a dog! They always love you.
I love: my mom and dad, sis and bil, Andy, Micah, extended family and friends!
I care: too much about what others think of me.
I always: wake up too late
I worry: about my Sunday school lesson for this Sunday
I am not: a U of U fan.
I remember: all the good old surfing days of high school
I believe: that we are all spirit children of our loving Heavenly Father.
I sing: in the shower
I don't always: remember what I was thinking about when I fall to sleep although it was probably important
I write: on walls!
I win: leg wrestling matches every time!
I lose: pens! I can't hold on to them for the life of me.
I listen: to friends who need a shoulder
I understand: that life is like a box of chocolates... you never know what you are going to get.
I can usually be found: playing sports!
I need: to go to church every Sunday. I miss it when I don't.
I forget: everything without a planner.
I am happy: when I count my blessings.
I tag anyone who want to spend 10 minutes filling this out.

Not for the weak of heart!

I am really enjoying Rugby although the bruises on my legs beg to differ. Yesterday we had some "contact drills." Its basically like a real game and I got kicked in the shin and stepped on a few times. No biggy... right Dad? and thrown around a few times but I also gave my fair share of pops! :) We are really getting our act together for our tournament in 2.5 weeks in New Mexico. I am super stoked!

Really Rugby is a blast and I am making new friends and the reaction of all the guys isn't bad either. :) Also soccer and football are great. Soccer we are undefeated and football in our last 2 games we outscored our opponents 52-0 so that's not too bad either.

Also as you can tell I finally figured out how to format my blog... well at least its a little bit better but it was defiantly an adventure. The cool thing is that there is so much information on the internet now that you can just read until you get it.
